The Energy Efficiency Services Ltd has revealed that 30 crores LED bulbs have been distributed across the country so far under the UG scheme introduced by the central government. By January 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the largest project in the world by distributing billions of bulbs through this.

According to ESSL MD Saurabh Kumar, a total of Rs 15,581 crore will be saved in the country with a total supply of 38,952 million kWh per annum. The goal is to reduce carbon intensity from 33 to 35 percent from 2005 to 2030. Continuously maintaining this scheme will give a good light to household needs and save electricity. Also, India's share in the global market has increased from 0.1 to 12 percent by the distribution of LED bulbs. The domestic market also increased from 0.4 percent to 10 percent. According to Saurabh Kumar, the livestock products have gone up from 30 lakhs to six crores and thereby 60,000 jobs.
